1. Support of Cape Coral Caring Center:
a. annual “Souper Sunday” donating nearly 300 pounds of food on Super Bowl Sunday, 2020
b. annual Peanut Butter & Jelly summer food drive. We take any kind of food that can be stored and prepared by children who are out of school during the summer. Just over 250 pounds of food in 2020
2. United Way VITA (Volunteers in Tax Assistance). Hosting the event for our third year in 2020 we helped 737 residents receive $988,671.00 in tax refunds. This project continued in 2021 and 2022 despite COVID.
3. COVID-19 Youth Vaccine clinics. Between Water’s Edge Church in Cape Coral and our satellite campus Water’s Edge Suncoast, and working with Golisano Children’s Hospital, we provided COVID Vaccine for 72 teenagers.
4. Annual “Trunk-or-Treat” event. Providing a safe place for the children of our city to have Halloween fun and get food and candy, we have served more than 250 children per year for the past three years.
5. Pastor, Dr. Donald Neace serves as volunteer chaplain with the Cape Coral Police Department and Lead Chaplain with the Cape Coral Fire Department. Additionally, the FOP of the Cape Coral Police Department hosts their monthly meetings at our Fellowship Hall. Our Children’s Ministry – KidZone – has hosted two annual CCPD/CCFD Appreciation days prior to COVID shutdown.
6. Water’s Edge Church is a polling place, Precinct 92 for local, state, and national elections.
7. Water’s Edge Church hosts meetings for the Cape Coral Community Foundation. Organizational meetings, grant approval and awards ceremonies; awarding hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant monies to non-profits in our community. Pastor, Dr. Donald Neace has served as Chair of the Grants Committee for 2020 and 2021.
8. Water’s Edge Church has adopted Caloosa Elementary School by collecting several hundreds of dollars’ worth of school supplies at the start of each school year and ongoing support to teachers and staff.
9. Pastor Don, in 2018 received recognition by the Cape Coral Community Foundation as one of 50 Inspiring & Influential Faith Leaders in Southwest Florida.
