Originally from southern Illinois, Pastor Don Neace came to Cape Coral in July of 2013. He moved here from Virginia where he lead churches in Big Stone Gap and Dublin, VA, served as the State Pastor for Virginia for ten years, and did Chaplain ministry at two correctional facilities as a rewarding part of his ministry in Virginia.
Pastor Don was licensed and ordained in the Church of God (Anderson, IN). He earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree, with emphasis in Theology, from Christian Bible College in North Carolina. For ten years he served as Editor-in-Chief of Reformation Witness Magazine, a national publication of the Church of God Pastor’s Fellowship and was on the Editorial Advisory Board for One Voice Magazine, a national publication of the Church of God (Anderson). A published author, Pastor Don has received numerous journalism awards in Illinois and Virginia.
Since moving to Cape Coral, Pastor Don has led Water’s Edge Church to serve in the city, including becoming active members of the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce, the Cape Coral Community Foundation, Precinct 92 for general elections, and United Way VITA programing. Water’s Edge also partners with Caloosa Elementary School, the Cape Coral Caring Center, and Suncoast Estates Community Center. Pastor Don personally serves as a volunteer chaplain with the Cape Coral Fire Department and the Cape Coral Police Department.
The Worship Pastor supports and promotes the vision of Water’s Edge Church to Teach God’s Word, Transform Lives, and Build the kingdom of God.
Ministry of Worship includes, but is not limited to, the worship leaders and primary instrumentalists. The Worship Pastor is responsible for keeping the church’s worship focused and God-centered. Works in cooperation with the Lead Pastor and Creative Arts Pastor. Is responsible for all musical and worship preparation and presentation. Assists and advises the Lead Pastor in selection of worship team members, Selects and schedules featured music. And provides planning, scheduling, and coordination of other worship programs or specific services for special occasions.
Compassionate Ministries Pastor supports and promotes the vision of Water’s Edge Church to Teach God’s Word, Transform Lives, and Build the kingdom of God, and is responsible for congregational compassionate care. A team of congregational members are recruited to help with Compassionate Ministries. The CM Pastor is not expected to do all the work, but to provide coordination of the team to accomplish the ministry together.
General Responsibilities - Hospital visitation: taking flowers, fruit basket, cards, balloons, etc. to members who are hospitalized, in care facilities, or homebound for extended periods of time; coordination of needs service such as taking someone to doctor’s office; carrying in food; and other needs as discovered. The Compassionate Ministries Pastor communicates with Pastor Don as needs are discovered and in event situations are discovered where some form of official intervention is needed.
CM Pastor leads Emergency contact coordination: Connecting with church members when urgent information needs to be communicated to the church by telephone and/or e-mail and assists with coordination of church emergency response in event of church family disaster or crisis.
The Creative Arts Pastor supports and promotes the vision of Water’s Edge Church to Teach God’s Word, Transform Lives, and Build the kingdom of God, and, is responsible to work alongside the Lead Pastor and Worship Pastor to facilitate the arts in the worship and church activities.
The Creative Arts Pastor is responsible for, but not limited to: creating images and lyrics for the worship service (Power Point or other approved computer software) that include words to the songs, supplemental videos, and slides that help the congregation visualize the sermon; and coordination of personnel for the operation of the sound and video systems.
